In conjunction with the TriticeaeGenome meeting, the IWGSC held its first Coordinating Committee training workshop in Prague on 7-8 April 2011. The workshop focused on survey sequencing, comparative genomics, survey sequencing assembly methods, blast searches on the website for the IWGSC data repository, methods for comparative and integrative analyses, marker development, and physical mapping. In addition to providing an opportunity for one-on-one training sessions, the agenda for the workshop included:

  • Overview and Status of the IWGSC Survey Sequencing Initiative by initiative leader. Jane Rogers. Slides
  • Overview of the IWGSC Bioinformatics Board by board chair. Klaus Mayer. Slides
  • Demonstration of different survey sequence assembly tools led by Mario Caccamo and Jonathan Wright. Slides
